I totally agree. This sketch looks very 'fake' to me. Howsoever hard I tried, I could not make it seem real.
I thought it was just me, but when I talked to a few other friends of mine who sketch (not professionally), they told me the same thing-- it's very very difficult to capture a 'laughing' face. That's why most people sketch out a 'normal/just smiling' or a 'sad/lonely' face.
"Wonder why it's so difficult for any form of art to do justice to the idea of 'happiness'..."
- See, the total entropy will unarguably increase in any process.. so, for the entropy on the canvas to decrease (i.e. to represent the orderly thing we call happiness), the entropy of your psyche must substantially increase, which means you should try making such a sketch in the worst of your moods! But in a bad mood you'll probably sketch a sad face only (in no violation of law of entropy.) I'm sure one will be able to sketch a really happy face if one tries it with a glass of wine in one's hand.

I can almost hear her laugh! :-) Well done.
Thanks :) I must say that you're very kind with your comments :)
The happiness in the pic, unfortunately, does not seem real..

Nice sketch, maybe because art is good at mixed emotions.
